Blogging ~ The ‘old’ new way of growing an online business

Growing an online business can sometimes feel like trying to find our way through a maze. With so many strategies and tactics out there, it's hard to know which ones will actually help us succeed. But here's the thing: have you considered blogging? Yes, I know it might sound like something from the past, but trust me when I say that blogging is making a big comeback in the world of online entrepreneurship. Let me tell you why.

Current blogging trends are absolutely a game-changer for anyone looking at growing online. I’ve been saying it over and over, blogging has huge benefits that we can’t overlook anymore.

According to a recent article published by Demandsage, a research and trending data specialist, quote:

  • 77% of internet users read blogs, which make up around 4.08 billion people globally.
  • A business that has a dedicated blog generates 55% more traffic.
  • 44% of shoppers say that they look into four to five blogs before making a purchasing decision.
  • Internet users in the USA spend three times more time reading a blog as compared to emails.
  • 97% of bloggers use social media to enhance their blog’s exposure.

This data supports what I’ve been saying recently: online entrepreneurs who are looking at getting started should focus on two things: a blog and an email list.

Quotes from my recent posts:

How to create revenue from a blog
There are two components that are crucial to have in place in order to enter into transactions with blog readers.

  • An email list.
  • A blog site that is capable of selling products and enrolling readers in courses and/or memberships.

Blog versus Website – Which is better in 2024 & beyond!

If you're starting from scratch and aiming to hit the ground running in 2024 and beyond, my recommendation is clear: start with a blog. Pair it with an email list to maximize engagement and growth opportunities.

Beyond the Noise – How to establish Brand Authority in 2024 and beyond!

Harness the Power of Blogging
Blogging emerges as a formidable ally in the quest for brand authority, it’s like having our own newspaper column.

Consider this: "44% of shoppers say that they look into four to five blogs before making a purchasing decision" and "Internet users in the USA spend three times more time reading a blog as compared to emails". These stats alone suggest that incorporating blogging into our overall content/marketing strategy is crucial for growing an online business.

Moreover, according to the same source, quote:

  • "You should focus on SEO because paid rankings are already suffering due to the massive use of ad blockers. It is estimated that 43% of people globally have ad blockers installed on their devices," and
  • "71% of bloggers say that Search Engine Optimization is the most vital way to increase traffic to the blog."

It is becoming clear that blogging, which may be considered the ‘old’ way or old-fashioned by some people, is far from being dead, and may actually be becoming the ‘new’ way for growing an online business.

We are missing out on amazing opportunities if we are not incorporating blogging in our online strategy. As a matter of fact, blogging should probably be the first place to start for beginners, and definitely for anyone struggling to get forward movement with their online venture.

I also believe we should embrace tendencies as well and combine the power of blogging with the power of AI.

What do you think about growing an online business by leveraging the current trend of blogging?

  1. I feel so lucky to have begun my blog along time ago. I believe that it has made a big difference in my search engine optimization and the people who sign up for my free consultations.

I used to blog more regularly than I do now, so this encourages me to focus more on doing more posts.

Do you have any guidance on how long a blog post to be in order to get the maximum benefit?

I’m sure the answer is “it depends” but I would love to hear your thoughts.

    1. So glad blogging has worked for you, as you see I believe it’s key moving forward. We could have an endless conversation on how long blog posts should be, and, as you guessed, it depends. But most importantly, it is a matter of testing and getting feedback from your audience. I think the most important thing is to actually do it, which you do!
